MARTIN ROCKA AND THE SICK SHOP are a 3 piece psychobilly band from Johannesburg. The band comprises the mysterious Martin Rocka on vocals and guitars, James Flames on bass guitar, and Boy McLoud on drums.

The band's unique sound combines classic rockabilly with psychedelia and lyrical fare devoted mostly to monster movies and swamp sex into an infectious and utterly tasteless conglomeration of trash culture.

Wrestling mask-wearing front man Martin Rocka cuts an enigmatic figure onstage. He combines lightning fast guitar licks with thunderous vocals to perform some of the most outrageous rockabilly ever seen. His true identity is a closely guarded secret, but he is rumored to converse with Elvis Presley on a nightly basis.

O SICK SICK SINNERS se formou no fim de 2005 em Curitiba, Brasil com Vlad (Guitarra e Vocal), Cox (Baixo e Vocal) e Duma (Bateria). Com essa formação eles gravaram a primeira demo, chamada "We are the Sick Sick Sinners". No começo de 2006 a banda tocou em festivais como Jungle Nightmare, Psycho Carnival e vários outros show no Brasil. Depois de um tempo houve uma mudança no line up, O punk rocker Magrão (Bateria e Backing Vocals) entra na banda e eles foram para os EUA tocar em 2 shows. Lá a banda foi convidada a vender seu merchandise na loja americana www.atlantacrashandburn.com. De volta ao Brasil, eles gravaram a pré produção de seu álbum, ao vivo em um estúdio caseiro, que tornou-se a segunda demo da banda. No final desse ano a banda fez uma pequena turnê no Uruguai e Argentina, onde tocaram em um dos mais importantes festivais da cena rock'n'roll da América Latina, o BA Stomp. Com a ajuda do myspace e da Internet, eles divulgaram a banda pelo mundo inteiro, sendo convidados a gravar um álbum pelo selo Alemão Crazy Love Records. O CD foi lançado em maio na Alemanha e será lançado em outubro no Brasil pela Monstro Discos. O álbum se chamará "Road of Sin" e trará 13 faixas da banda.

Desde o início da banda, eles já tocavam em vários festivais e shows no Brasil e América do Sul. Em dezembro de 2007 eles gravaram o vídeo clip "Beer and Flesh Meat" e o vídeo alcançou 10.000 exibições em 4 meses após ter sido enviado para o youtube.com, onde você pode facilmente encontrar vários vídeos de performances ao vivo da banda. O mesmo vídeo está sendo televisionado na MTV Brasileira. Em junho de 2008 a banda fez uma turnê pelos EUA e México e teve uma ótima resposta do público. A banda está começando a escrever novas músicas e já foi convidada a fazer uma turnê na América do Norte e do Sul e uma tour na Europa.

The SICK SICK SINNERS was born in late 2005. Started with a few rehearsals at Mutant Cox..s house, when he realized that he was up to play the slap bass instead of the guitar, which was the original plan. Vlad and Cox used to play together a long ago with Os Cervejas and then Os Catalépticos, Duma came to play the drums and together they recorded the first demo "We are the Sick Sick Sinners" that already spread their name all around the world. After some shows the Sick Sick Sinners changed the line up and invited the punk rocker Magrão to join the band. They already brought their sick music to California, Argentina, Uruguay and of corpse Brasil!

The Rawheads were originally founded by drummer Lutz and guitarplayer Ralph in the middle of the 1980´s. Lutz had played with the kid-punk band Stromsperre but was more into Rockabilly and Psycho, so he looked out for new musicians to have his own band. Ralph, nicknamed Ralle played guitar in the same basement where the punks had rehearsed before, the notorious HDM, where, by the way Christiane F. made her first drug experiences, too. Approaching the ´90´s the line up was completed with Betoncombo frontman Heske on bass and, also former Stromsperre bassplayer Kosche, now on vocals. Playing their own unique style, a mixture of psychotic lyrics, driving punk beat and thrilling Rock´n´Roll guitarwork they soon played smaller gigs in the local youth clubs. Having good connections to local promoters, they ended up opening for the Krewmen. However, time did not stand still and in 1990 Heske wanted to leave the band as well as Kosche, due to private reasons.

Birdland were formed in 1989 in Birmingham, England by the brothers Robert (vocals) and Lee Vincent (guitar),[1] who had previously released records and toured in glam rock band, Zodiac Motel.

The other band-members were Simon Rogers (bass), and Neil Hughes (drums).[1]

Birdland's debut single "Hollow Heart", was released on Lazy Records. It entered the UK Singles chart on 1 April 1989, at number 70; it was only in the chart for a week.[1]

The single generated hype in the British music press, due partly to their live shows but also to their striking cartoonish 'four peroxide blondes' image.[citation needed]

The band released three further singles. "Paradise" entered the UK Singles chart on 8 July 1989, also reaching number 70 and also remaining in the chart for just one week.[1] "Sleep With Me" reached the Top 40 in the UK Singles Chart (and the video being shown on Top of the Pops). They also released a cover of Patti Smith's "Rock N Roll Nigger". It was two years after the first single, that the band finally released their eponymously titled debut album in 1991.

Following the album's release, legal problems with an earlier manager caused the band to disappear from sight. They returned in 1993, with two new members to play a low key tour of pubs and clubs, but despite many new and unreleased tracks being previewed, the band split up shortly after the tour.

This three boys from Edmonton, Canada, gave me a pleasant surprise, hoping to find a band with current American psychobilly sound, I put the disc without much enthusiasm, and heard the first chords, I found a disc of rockabilly and neo European psychobilly sound very fun. The thirteen tracks that make the CD, are irreplaceable, perfect to put in your guateques spring. La tematica de las letras también recuerda a las primeras bandas de los 80´s muy divertidas, monstruos, coches, chicas, mutantes adolescentes…. The subject matter of the letters also reminded the first bands of the 80's very funny, monsters, cars, girls, teenage mutant .... .Mi selección queda así “Truffe Shuffle”, “High school massacre”, “Attack of the 50´s” y “Wicked one” para mi son lo mejor del disco. . My choice is thus "Truffe Shuffle," "High School Massacre", "Attack of the 50's" and "Wicked one" for me are the best on the disc.
